Between Symbolic Acts, Environmental Qualities & Human Sensibilities

A rope is placed between the artists apartment and the kunsthalle. This means that the object is situated in different places and constitutes a simultaneous relation between them. The same rope figures as an artwork in the kunsthalle, as a functional object in public space and as something personal maybe private in the artists home.

The work approaches the exhibition as a medium, a material rather than just a place for representation. The exhibitions temporal, physical and symbolic conventions are being adressed. Trying to find the space between representation and presence by using symbolic acts the artist explores an artworks critical potential to address different frameworks and conventions of exhibition making.
