Public* Display* of Actions*
Radical Empathy, A Continuous Score is an ongoing project that utilizes the strategy of the ‘public rehearsal’ as a method to share process based work. With each new act introduced to the series, P*D*A* seeks to find new tools of action and awareness. How can the visual and performative literacy of art be shared and used collectively among artists, activists, researchers, and the general public to navigate the swiftly changing social and political climate? This is a call for vigilance at a time when white power and institutional violence are gathering in the wake of political instability driven by post-factual politics, white fragility and rights. This work comes from the need to share vulnerabilities and management strategies while aiming to be a space for both refuge and action. P*D*A* reflects on instability conditions that aggravate the restrictions on movement and isolation from others, anxiety and fear of disease, as well as the nationalisms and racism that gather around the virus.
